Action Plan: UNIVERSITY
The first ever America to Me class was led by the series’ own Jessica Stovall at Stanford University. The 10-week course was titled “America Never Was America to Me: Race and Equity in US Public Schools”.
Action Plan: Parent Advocacy
A dynamic parent group in New York City organized a weekly watch group and hosted engaged discussions around how to advocate for children in their district. They went on to organize a community screening that included the Chancellor of NYC schools Richard Carranza and over 200 parents and community members.
Action Plan: High School Class
Two high school teachers screened America to Me in their college prep classrooms, empowering their students to think and discuss issues of equity and lead change within their school.
